Furthering our commitment to energy conservation and sustainable design, we’ve expanded our green building portfolio in 2024 with 24 offices awarded the EDGE Zero Carbon certification and 17 hotels and offices awarded LEED certifications. This brings our total number of green-certified properties to 41, covering a gross floor area of 1,160,352 square meters across our developments.
As of the end of 2024, our office portfolio has a total GFA of 1,566,903 sqm, with 59% or 921,417 sqm already green-certified. The office group has pledged to secure green certification for 1.5 million square meters GFA of its portfolio (equivalent to 96% of the total office GFA) by the end of 2025 under IFC EDGE Zero Carbon.
Our hotel portfolio totals 356,622 sqm, with 16% or 57,492 sqm certified as of the end of 2024. Established developments are currently working on the requirements for BERDE certification.
Looking forward, our project will be guided by our environmental policies and green building standards. ALI pledges to pursue green certifications, such as USGBC’s LEED, WELL, and PhilGBC’s BERDE, as well as IFC’s EDGE, for our developments, where practicable.
With the commitments in place, the company has launched programs related to education and training for green building certifications. 35 members of the Ayala Land participated in the BERDE training held last May. In the organization, 3 MDC members are LEED AP-certified.
