Site Resilience

Ayala Land recognizes long-term risks of climate change and short-term impacts of extreme weather conditions and geohazards to our real estate products

The integration of green spaces and native trees in developments serves to promote the health and wellbeing of residents and visitors by promoting access to natural surroundings and safe outdoor recreational spaces while boosting local biodiversity and site resilience against climate change.

1,314

We integrate green open spaces in each property masterplan and ensure technical due diligence, geohazard screening, and biodiversity assessments throughout project development. To prevent net deforestation, we do not acquire or pursue developments in forested areas, or areas classified as forests. Furthermore, to address physical risks linked to climate change and safeguard ecosystem integrity, the company consistently applies erosion and sedimentation control measures throughout the planning and development phases of its projects.

Biodiversity

Ayala Land gives high importance to the value of the natural biodiversity where it located and engages third-party organizations for biodiversity studies of its properties.

Through regular biodiversity surveys and High Conservation Value Area (HCVA) assessments, the richness and diversity of wildlife species present is measured and hotspots of areas of potential areas of impact are identified to create a metric for the recommendations on how to mitigate and manage risks.

We have also been proactive in the rescue and rehabilitation of wildlife in our forests and oceans. In 2025, sea turtle conservation initiatives in Lio Tourism Estate, El Nido Resorts, and Anvaya Cove have seen the protection of over 31 nests and the successful release of over 4,100 sea turtle hatchlings of Olive Ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea) and Hawksbill (Eretmochelys imbricata) turtles.

Site Resilience

Ayala Land integrated opportunities for enhancing commuter and pedestrian experiences in the masterplan of all development, aligning with government directives and evolving urban mobility trends

Our properties are strategically positioned in prime locations, wide pedestrian walkway networks within the estates and direct access to major roads and public transport stations.

Resource Efficiency

We integrate resource‑efficiency measures across construction, building operations, utility systems, and supply chain engagement to reduce the consumption of energy, water, and raw materials. We continue to expand reuse and recycling efforts across the organization. These actions support our decarbonization pathway by lowering both embodied and operational emissions, while reducing exposure to supply‑chain volatility, regulatory shifts, and climate‑driven pressures on natural resources.

Resource‑efficiency interventions are embedded into our green building standards, property management practices, and tenant and community engagement programs, ensuring that sustainability is consistently applied throughout the lifecycle of our developments.
